Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-10

This invoice generator is designed to be local-first: your business documents are yours, and by default they never leave your device. This policy explains exactly what data exists, where it lives, and the two narrow cases in which anything is transmitted at all.

1. Summary

  • No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising cookies.
  • Invoices, drafts, logos, signatures and settings are stored only in your browser's local storage.
  • Data leaves your device in exactly two cases, both initiated by you: submitting a prompt to the optional AI assistant, and entering a premium unlock code for verification.

2. Data stored on your device

Invoices you create or save, the autosaved working draft, uploaded images (logo, signature, background), language and premium status are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. This data is never uploaded as part of creating, editing, saving or exporting invoices (PDF, PNG, JPG, JSON): all rendering and export happens inside your browser.

Consequences of local-first storage you should be aware of: clearing your browser data, using private/incognito mode, or switching browsers or devices means your invoices are not available there. We recommend exporting important invoices as PDF and keeping JSON backups. Anyone with access to your browser profile can see locally stored invoices, so use your operating system's user accounts and disk encryption as you would for any business files.

3. AI edit assistant (optional)

If, and only if, you submit a prompt to the AI assistant, the current invoice data is sent to our server and passed to our AI provider to fulfil your request. Your logo, signature and background image are always stripped before sending, and you can exclude further fields (for example names, addresses, bank details) in the AI privacy settings. The response is used to update the invoice in your browser. We do not use this data to train models and do not store your invoice contents on our server beyond processing the request.

4. Premium unlock codes

Unlocking premium sends only the code you entered to our server for verification. We do not collect names, emails or payment details through this app. Your IP address may be processed transiently to rate-limit repeated attempts and is not stored long-term.

5. Legal bases (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on Art. 6(1)(b) (performance of the service you request, e.g. verifying an unlock code or processing an AI prompt you submitted) and Art. 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest in protecting the service against abuse, e.g. rate limiting). Since invoice data is processed locally on your device, no server-side legal basis is needed for normal use.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port personal data, and to object to processing. For invoice data these rights are under your direct control: you can view, edit, export (JSON/PDF) and delete everything yourself in the app, deleting an invoice or clearing browser storage removes it permanently. For the transient server-side processing described above, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

7. Retention

We keep no server-side copies of your invoices, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Locally stored data remains until you delete it. Note that tax law in your country will likely require you to retain issued invoices for several years (commonly 5 to 10), keeping exported PDFs safely backed up is your responsibility.

8. Cookies and tracking

This app does not use analytics, advertising cookies, fingerprinting or cross-site tracking. Local storage is used solely to keep your own data on your own device, it is functionally required and never read by us.

9. Children

This service is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how data is handled, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect. Substantive changes will be highlighted in the app.

11. Contact

Questions or requests about this policy can be directed to the contact information on our legal information page.
